Look no further than University Recreation!

UA students, faculty and staff will use their ACT Card to enter University Recreation facilities.
Students with 1 or more on-campus hours have access to UA Recreation Centers including the Student Recreation Center, Robert E. Witt Activity Center, Aquatic Center, Outdoor Pool Complex and Tennis Court Complex automatically loaded on their ACT Card once their schedule is confirmed. Faculty and staff members are required to have a membership for entry with their ACT Card.

Non-UA affiliated members of the community who purchase a University Recreation membership will also need to purchase a Community Card from the Action Card Office.

Community Cards

Dependents of UA faculty/staff, dependents of UA students and non-UA affiliated community members who join The University of Alabama Recreation Center Outdoor Pool Complex, Aquatic Center, Student Recreation Center, Robert E. Witt Student Activity Center and Tennis Court Complex will need to purchase a Community Card for $10 after purchasing a membership.

Community Cards are photo IDs, so a photo will be taken in office when you arrive to have your card made. This will be for any membership holder, including children except those ages 3 or under. Children ages 3 or under are not required to have a membership.

How to get your Community Card:

  • Purchase your membership

    When filling out your membership information online or in person you will receive a receipt for your membership. Bring this receipt with you, either printed or via email, when you visit the Action Card Office to have your card made.

    Memberships are required before a Community Card will be made.

  • Visit the Action Card Office

    Bring your UA Recreation membership receipt to the Action Card Office in the Transportation Hub Deck (aka Bus Hub) any time during business hours (Mon. – Fri., 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).

    The office observes all UA holidays listed in the UA Holiday Schedule.

  • Purchase your card

    Community Cards are $10 per person. Lost or damaged cards have a replacement fee of $35.

    A replacement fee for lost or damaged cards can be paid at the Action Card Office during business hours by credit/debit card, cash or check.

Community Cards can be used each year you have a membership

There is no need to get a new card each year, unless the card has been lost or damaged, which will result in a $35 replacement fee.

Children whose appearance changes as they age can visit the Action Card Office to receive a new card free of charge, so long as the previous card is brought in and exchanged at the time of replacement.
