Where
is the Action Card Office and what are your hours?
Our office is located in 104 Student Services Center. We're open Monday-Friday
from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and phones are answered Monday-Friday
from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. All University holidays are observed.

When do I have my Action Card made?
New students have their Action Card made during orientation. You'll
go to the Action Card ID Production Table located in the University
Supply Store in Ferguson Center to have your photo made. Once you
are officially enrolled and financially cleared, your Action Card
is ready to use.
How
do I open a Bama Cash account on my Action Card?
Simply make a deposit and enjoy the ease of using your pre-paid Bama
Cash account for payment at participating merchants. Each time you
use your account you will receive your current available balance.
How
can I or my parents add money to my Action Card Bama Cash debit account?
Once you've opened your Bama Cash account, adding money to your account
is easy. You or your parents can make immediate deposits ONLINE. The
University accepts cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard or Discover card.
Deposits are also accepted at the Action Card office .Credit card
deposits may also be called in to 348-2288 (local) or toll free 1-800-474-2288
during regular business hours. Cash deposits can be made at the Action
Card Value Transfer Stations located in the lobby of Rose Towers residence
hall, Ferguson Center and University Libraries.
What
is the difference between Dining Dollars and Bama Cash debit accounts
on the Action Card?
All undergraduate students with 9 or more hours will join our Dining
Dollars program. A balance of $300 per fall and spring semester (and
$100 per summer) is automatically billed to your account. These funds
are available for use at all campus Bama Dining locations plus all
Domino's Pizza, Buffalo Phil's, Crimson Cafe, Strip Tea's & Coffee
and campus vending machines. Bama Cash accounts are optional. With
a pre-deposit of funds, you can then use your Action Card to make
purchases at participating locations both on and off campus.
My
Action Card is lost (or stolen), what do I do?
Immediately report your card lost or stolen so that the card can be
inactivated. During regular business hours call the Action card Office
at (205) 348-2288, after hours or holidays call the UAPD at (205)
348-5454.
How
do I get a replacement Action Card at any time of the day or night?
Replacement Action Cards are available during regular business hours
at our office located in 104 Student Services Center at a cost of
$25. The card fee is billed directly to your student account. Temporary
cards are available after regular business hours or holidays from
the UAPD located in New Hall at no charge. Temporary cards allow you
to access your card services, including debit accounts, for one week.
Temporary cards are also available if you believe you may find your
card or, for example, simply left it at home during your last visit.
Once again, temporary cards are valid for one week from issuance.
Can
I withdraw money from my debit account(s)?
Withdrawal of cash funds are not permitted from any Action Card account.
What
happens to money left in my debit accounts at the end of the year?
Bama Cash account funds automatically carry over from year to year
ready for use at any time. Request for refunds are accepted between
May 15 through July 1 each year. Refund requests are processed after
the last day of final exams for the spring term with the refund applied
to the student's account at the Office of Student Receivables. For
students who have graduated or withdrawn requests for refunds are
accepted at any time with refunds applied to the student's account
at the Office of Student Receivables. Dining Dollars account funds
remaining on the last day of exams for spring term will automatically
be applied to a Bama Cash debit account for the student. Requests
for refunds are accepted May 15 through July 1 each year. Refund requests
are processed after the last day of final exams for the spring term
with the refund applied to the student's account at the Office of
Student Receivables.
The vending reader shows a different
balance than my actual debit card balance. Is this a problem?
Vending reader debit card sales are limited to $20 per day for the
cardholder protection. Each day your vending balance is reset to $20.
The account value showing on the reader is the daily reduction from
the $20 and not your actual debit account balance unless your account
balance is $20 or less.
