    • Questions on the Action Card -Bama Cash payroll deduction option?

    • What is the Action Card - Bama Cash payroll deduction option?
      UA employees in permanent positions may opt to have a Bama Cash deposit deducted from their payroll each month. Those funds are automatically deposited to the employees Bama Cash account and conveniently accessed with their UA Action Card at over 100 on and off-campus locations. A complete list of locations accepting Bama Cash can be found at Bama Cash locations.

    • What is the schedule for the Bama Cash payroll deduction and deposit?
      There is a monthly payroll deduction and Bama Cash deposit.

      1.) Bi weekly employees will see the deduction on the first payroll of each month. Their Bama Cash funds will be deposited by 8am on the check date of that first payroll of the month as listed at The University of Alabama Payroll Schedules .

      2.) Monthly employees will see the deduction on their monthly payroll. Their Bama Cash funds will be deposited by 8am on the check date of their monthly payroll as listed at The University of Alabama Payroll Schedules .

    • How do I setup a Bama Cash payroll deduction?
      It's easy and you can manage the deduction online at your convenience. From ua.edu ->log into your MyBama account ->click on the "Employee" Tab -> click on "Employees Services" (under Bama Self-Service module on the right-hand side of the screen) ->click on "Benefits and Deductions" ->click on the "Action Card-Bama Cash" option ->click on the "Add a New Benefit" button-->enter an amount under the "Pay Period Amount" for the monthly payroll deduction/Bama Cash deposit amount ->"Submit Changes".
      Your request will automatically process. The "Benefit or Deduction as of date" on the screen will let you know your deduction will process on the next Bama Cash payroll deduction after that date. Until that time, you may continue to add, change or delete without affecting your payroll deduction. (See The University of Alabama Payroll Schedules listed above for specific dates.)

    • How can I change the Action Card - Bama cash payroll deduction amount?
      You can manage this online at your convenience. From ua.edu ->log into your MyBama account ->click on the "Employee" Tab ->click on "Employees Services" (under Bama Self-Service module on the right-hand side of the screen) ->click on "Benefits and Deductions" ->click on the "Action Card-Bama Cash" option ->click on "Update" (middle of the screen towards the bottom) ->enter the new amount under the "Pay Period Amount" for the monthly payroll deduction/Bama Cash deposit amount ->"Submit Changes".

      You can manage this online at your convenience. From ua.edu ->log into your MyBama account ->click on the "Employee" Tab ->click on "Employees Services" (under Bama Self-Service module on the right-hand side of the screen) ->click on "Benefits and Deductions" ->click on the "Action Card-Bama Cash" option ->click on "Update" (middle of the screen towards the bottom) ->change "Status" to "Inactive" using the dropdown box ->click on "Submit Changes".
      Your request will automatically process. The "Benefit or Deduction as of date" on the screen will let you know your stop request will process on the next Bama Cash payroll deduction after that date.     • How can I restart an Action Card - Bama Cash payroll deduction that I previously stopped?
      You can manage this online at your convenience. From ua.edu ->log into your MyBama account ->click on the "Employee" Tab ->click on "Employees Services" (under Bama Self-Service module on the right-hand side of the screen) ->click on "Benefits and Deductions" ->click on the "Action Card-Bama Cash" option ->click on "Update" (middle of the screen towards the bottom) ->change "Status" to "Active" using the dropdown box ->click on "Submit Changes". Your request will automatically process. The "Benefit or Deduction as of date" on the screen will let you know your stop request will process on the next Bama Cash payroll deduction after that date.     FAQ - NEW FACULTY / STAFF ACTION CARD

    • Do I need an Action Card and where do I have it made?
      All University employees must have an official ID card, the Action Card. Cards are produced at 104 Student Service Center Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. A valid government issued picture ID will be required. There is no charge for the first card made, however fees will apply for lost/stolen cards thereafter. Your payroll action form must be processed before your ID can be produced. That information can be verified with your department. Your Action card is non transferable to another individual.

    • Why do I need an Action Card?
      Your Action Card is your official ID. You will automatically receive Library privileges. Facilities Access is determined by your department.
      The following purchased privileges are accessed with your Action Card. Contact specific departments for additional information. Parking, Bama Cash On/Off Campus, Meal Plans, Recreational, SUPe Store Discounts (restrictions apply)

    • Can my dependent receive an Action Card?
      University employee must accompany dependents and complete authorization form in order to have a dependent card. Card fees will apply.
      Your dependent Action Card is non transferable to another individual.

    • What happens if my card is lost/stolen?
      Immediately report your card lost or stolen. During regular business hours, call Action Card at 205.348.2288 and after hours or holidays, call UAPD at 205.348.5454. There is a $25 fee due at time of replacement. Visa, Master Card, Discover, Cash, Check or Bama Cash are acceptable methods of payments.

    FAQ - FACULTY / STAFF

    • How may I open and deposit to a Bama Cash account on my Action Card?
      Your Bama Cash account is automatically established and deposits can be made online, at the Action Card Office, by phone at 348-2288 or by payroll deductions (details listed above)

    • How can I check my Bama Cash or meal plan account balance and transaction history?
      Your accounts can be checked online, you will need your MyBama login to sign in.

    • Can I withdraw money from my Action Card debit account(s)?
      Withdrawal of cash funds are not permitted from and Action Card account.

    • Why does the vending reader show a different balance than my actual debit card balance?
      Vending reader debit card sales are limited to $20 per day for cardholder protection. If your Action Card debit account balance is under $20, the account balance is displayed. If your debit account balance is over $20, the account value displayed on the reader is the daily reduction from the $20 daily vending limit.
